Native Voices on the Page: A Reading and Community Conversation | Native Arts + Cultures Foundation

  • Native Arts + Cultures Foundation 800 Southeast 10th Avenue Portland, Oregon, 97214 United States (map)

Native poetry is living, contemporary, and worth celebrating.

Join us at the Center for Native Arts + Cultures on November 6 for an evening of poetry and conversation honoring the release of Kara Briggs’ new collection, You and I and Spilyáy.

Briggs, a Sauk-Suiattle Tribal Citizen and direct Yakama descendant, will be joined by Ursula Pike (Karuk) and Joan Naviyuk Kane (Iñupiaq, 2013 NACF National Artist Fellow), who will share readings of their own work. Together, these three Native authors bring distinct voices and perspectives to an evening centered on Native poetry and contemporary literary work.

Free and open to all. Register on Eventbrite!
